in the ten days that I have been away on vacation I have gained 7.4 pounds.
talk about not making the proper choices for staying slender.
current weight this am: 177.6
I will start working to get this back to a manageable 170 this week....  I expect it to take a few weeks to get it all off....

Do I regret it?
No.  This will likely be the one and only time I head down to Disney in my lifetime.  I am glad that I experienced everything that I did...  Including the bottomless milkshakes in 8 different flavors.

Did I try to mitigate the damage I was doing?   Yes... If they had salad on the menu I ate that first... then all veggies and then the not so good stuff...

I will live and not regret this... this wonderful experience.

Now i will have to make better choices from now on to get back to where I wanted to be.  Its all good.  Working hard for something you want is good.

back to work now.

Well... tonight I am leaving for a while with family....
I wanted to get a bead on where I was with my weight.
Got on the scale today and I was pleasantly surprised...

170.2

No longer am I sitting at or around 175-174.

Although I have not been the most strict with my food choices over the last couple of weeks.... I have still lost...

I have been back to the gym a few times... doing cardio and once with mike to do chest... abs and well more abs...

700 crunches makes for one sore tummy section....
and the breathing while doing that makes for one high Mimmy,

Last Friday I weighed in at 172.4 before work...  after work I went to Rye NY for LunaCon.  Sci-fi convention.  The parties were great and I enjoyed myself... and others to the fullest.  ;)    This morning I weighed in and it was a total of 172.0 lbs.  -.4 lbs. this week.  With the con and everything else I dropped...   This is a VICTORY

after a little yo-yo-ing over the last two weeks, I am back on the right track.

197.0 this morning. 0.4 lbs to go to my first goal (which I hoped to get by LAST weekend, but I can deal with a week late...)

I'm still having injury issues, though different ones now (A bad knee instead of a bad neck) But trying to exercise.

I am already having clothing fit issues. Bras so far. God forbid I tried on a bodice. Oh well. I'm willing to remake and rebuy every thing. It's worth it AND I can afford it.

I was walking through the cafe today for lunch.... and the soups didn't do anything for me.... chili was a possibility.  I was wondering all over and walked up to a place with tortellini in a white cheese sauce... Sure that looks like the only thing that I like that they are serving today... I go to grab a tray.... I come to my senses...  WTF???!?!?!  Do you know how many points is in that?  Are you willing to sacrifice your goals for someone else's poorly made pasta dish?

I walked away.

I have gone to the cafeteria for lunch...   Chili... Bread... and instead of a chocolate chip gooey cookie I got a salad.    I WILL WIN this!

Well last night went ok... I had two helpings of dinner and two slices of bread (OH MY GOD IT WAS FRESH BAKED AND MELTED IN MY MOUTH)  but that was the extent.  I successfully resisted the cake and icecream... this year it was all in one, David had an ice cream cake.  So that was easy.  (where did i put that easy button)

Last night I was invited to LunaCon down in Westchester for the 15th.  Now I must come up with an attack plan for that.
Bring lots of water and granola bars... lol
and a spongy thing to wash dishes.  (thinking of oatmeal in the morning as it is a good hearty breakfast)

Well tonight is my Brother David's birthday party...
I think that I am safe and that things will be good.

Dinner is Shepard's Pie  It will be point intensive but all is not lost.
So far today:
I have had breakfast muffin (6 points)
lunch was tomato and rice soup with a slice of bread (6 points)
Dinner has about 12 points left over to play with.
Plans within plans:  After work I go to the gym and do my normal Cardio exercise gaining another 8 Activity points (4 that I can use today)
Go to my mothers and have a great dinner... watching the portion sizes.
Drink alot of water at the gym and on the way over to mom's house.
Successfully resist the cakes and pies (I'm not a pie person and my fondness for cakes is diminishing quickly)
Successfully resist the Ice Cream (not even a temptation any more for what I have to go through about 40 minutes after I eat it)
Have fun with my family and go home.

Weighing In [Mar. 5th, 2008|09:46 am]

As of the end of February I have lost 6.6 pounds. It would have been more, but the flu prevented exercise.

I'm participating in another challenge through the end of April and am hoping to lose 10 pounds. We'll see how that goes.

A challenge is usually a defined period of time (e.g., March 1-April 30) where the participants set a goal to achieve by the end of the challenge and report in daily (or weekly) on their progress. It usually has a specific focus - water, food, exercise, etc.

Question: would a weight watcher challenge help everyone here?  Let me know. I'll be happy to organize it if you want.
